(...) They didn't have a corkscrew, so they tried to push the cork in with a big knife.But that broke off part of the neck, which made it all the more dangerous.

Someone helped them out and managed to push the cork in without slicing open his wrists. But he splashed red wine all over his shirt.

Later they filtered the wine through someone's headscarf to get rid of the shards of glass. It turned out that there weren't any. Or maybe they were just too small to be seen.

It was great to celebrate, and an added excitement was that you felt that the situation might get out of hand any minute.
